About Marrero Land

Marrero Land is a closely-held, family-owned real estate development company founded in 1904 by Louis H. Marrero, Sr. and his sons, Louis H. Marrero, Jr., Leo A. Marrero and William F. “Pete” Marrero. At that time, the upriver area of the Westbank was largely a pastoral stretch of land consisting principally of historic plantations devoted to agricultural endeavors, and relatively isolated from the City of New Orleans. The senior Marrero, a pioneer and visionary, saw the Westbank as an untapped resource with great potential for business and industry, complemented by commercial and residential development as the area made its transition from an agrarian to a modern day metropolitan economy.

Marrero Land has been an integral part of the growth and development of the Westbank. Throughout its long history, Marrero Land has involved itself in the full spectrum of land ownership, management, and development. In addition to quality, upscale residential, commercial, and industrial developments, Marrero Land offers a full array of commercial properties available for lease. Over the years, Marrero Land has acquired the real estate development experience and expertise required to assist with your development plans, especially on the Westbank.
